All The World Is A Stage

The Common Ground Coalition for Responsible and Accountable Government work to move beyond partisan gridlock and strengthen a more transparent, trustworthy republic. We believe effective governance depends on common ground, fiscal responsibility, and open oversight. Through nonpartisan advocacy, public education, and policy reform, we promote government that operates with integrity, efficiency, and direct accountability to the people.

“We strive to bring people together promoting a more transparent and accountable government—one committed to fiscal responsibility, integrity, and genuine service to the people.”

Our goal is to end the political blame game. Elected officials are meant to represent everyone in their district or country, not only those who supported them. Too often, however, politicians focus on energizing their own base while the opposition is left to challenge them from the sidelines. This dynamic rewards division: when voters remain angry and divided, leaders can win and retain power with only limited public support. We work to change that through a nonpartisan approach that brings opposing sides together, encourages honest dialogue, identifies common ground, and promotes a government that is transparent, accountable, and committed to serving all people. “Agreeing to disagree” may sound respectful, but in politics it can become an excuse to avoid solving real problems. It can keep supporters polarized, delay difficult decisions, and allow leaders to preserve power without building consensus. True leadership does more than accept permanent disagreement—it works to find shared solutions.

As Shakespeare said, “The world is a stage and all the men and women merely players.” In politics, this is especially true — politicians often play their assigned roles, delivering scripted attacks and staying in character to please their audience. Instead, they should begin engaging in honest dialogue: listening with an open mind, speaking with sincerity, and genuinely trying to understand the other side rather than simply performing for their supporters.
